Muntinlupa City records zero new Covid-19 cases; active patients at 19


The Muntinlupa City government has recorded zero new Covid-19 cases on March 12 as its total number of active patients continued to decrease.

Based on data from the City Health Office, Muntinlupa City had no new Covid-19 cases on March 12, bringing the total confirmed cases to 39,848 for March 11 and 12.

The city government also tallied six new recoveries and zero deaths on March 12 to bring the total active cases to 19, a decrease from 25 on March 11, 22 on March 10, 23 on March 9, 23 on March 8, 26 on March 7 and 28 on March 6.

Of the nine barangays in Muntinlupa, three are Covid-19-free as of March 12: Ayala Alabang, Buli and Sucat.

Out of the 19 active cases, six are listed in Barangay Tunasan, four in Alabang, three each in Poblacion and Putatan, two in Cupang and one in Bayanan.

Health authorities have emphasized that people should get vaccinated as protection against the severe effects of Covid-19.

As of March 10, the Muntinlupa City government said 455,650 individuals have been fully vaccinated, or 119 percent of the target population of 383,021.

In addition, 97,623 fully vaccinated individuals have received their booster shot or third vaccine shot.

Among the five to 11 years old, 8,254 have received their first dose or 12 percent of the target population of 68,198 while 4,466 are now fully vaccinated or seven percent of the target.

In the 12 to 17 age group, 39,426 were given the first dose or 71 percent of the target population of 55,391 and 36,646 are now fully vaccinated or 66 percent of the target.
