Catriona Gray saddened by body-shaming remarks thrown at Miss Universe 2021

Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray has shared her two cents about the current Miss Universe titleholder who has been receiving some remarks over her weight.

In an interview, the 28-year-old model-singer said: "It's really unfortunate that the public still finds the need to tear a woman down in that way. We're campaigning so hard that beauty queens or Miss Universe should be more than an image.”

According to her, Harnaaz Sandhu should not be limited by her body shape.

"She is a spokesperson at the end of the day,” she pointed out, relating what matters most is that the 22-year-old Indian model-actress is effectively doing her role as Miss Universe 2021.

"I feel like she should be celebrated because what message do we send to other young girls or young people in the public or even on social media when they read those comments and then perhaps compare their bodies," she said.

"There's nothing that comes nice out of it so let's not use derogatory terms in that way. Let's celebrate women and its Women's Month pa. And we should celebrate women for what they give to the table - which is their voice, their platform,” Catriona reiterated.

Recall that a few days ago, Harnaaz already issued a reaction to people calling her names because of her appearance.

She said: "Well, I think everybody has their own perspectives but I know that in the end of the day it's me and how much I love myself, maybe I'm going through some changes, maybe I didn't sleep well last night, maybe my face is looking puffy today or maybe this is how I am. Because we're all changing at the end of the day and I think we need to be comfortable. We need to love ourselves. We all go through changes and that should be relatable. So, this is me, and I love myself."
