BOC, FDA strengthens fight vs importation of fake medicines


The Bureau of Customs Port of NAIA (BOC-NAIA) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) held a webinar with stakeholders to address the proliferation of fake medicines in the country.

The webinar focused on the requirements and regulations of the FDA and the BOC, especially on the importation of various pharmaceutical products.

In her opening remarks, District Collector Carmelita M. Talusan expressed gratitude to those who attended, saying the webinar was an opportunity to clarify and further improve the services that BOC-NAIA.

"This is important to enhance trade facilitation and expedite the release of imported medicines and other medical supplies in response to the threat of Covid-19," said Talusan.

Various brokers, importers and pharmaceutical companies attended the webinar where they were given the opportunity to raise their concerns and queries.
