Jessy Mendiola shares tips on styling swimwear

Going to the beach soon?

With many local destinations loosening their restrictions when it comes to travel, it seems like our summertime this year will be close to normal. And as the hot season is right around the corner, we bet you are itching to feel the sands and the waves on your toes and create new moments under the sun with your friends and family.

Now, if you’re looking for ways to amp up your beach looks, then turn to actress Jessy Mendiola for inspiration. In her latest vlog, she shared some of her favorite looks when she’s on a beach getaway. To help you with your style choices, we’ve listed down a few of her tricks to take your seaside OOTD game to the next level.

1. Go bold with color

Jessy is never shy about wearing big with colors. One of her favorite swimwear looks is courtesy of Boom Sason, a one-piece suit n vibrant and citrusy orange. Another is an embroidered two-piece swimsuit in pastel blue from Black Bough Swim.

2. Always accessorize

Adding a few pieces is key to styling a swimwear look. In Jessy’s case, her pairing of luxury items with local artisanal pieces is key in making a beach ensemble shine. Her favorites are scarves from Hermès, a handbag from Aranaz, and dainty jewelry pieces.

3. Dress for the elements

Anything can happen while on a trip. Some days begin with bright rays from the sun, and moments later dark clouds appear bringing a little rain. Nothing is worst than putting on something that will go against the elements (e.g. heels and sand). So it is worth packing a few pieces that are versatile. Jessy’s picks are a pair of jelly slippers and a Hermès bucket hat.

4. Always pack linen pieces

Wardrobe staples for tropical destinations, linen garments don’t just look chic and clean, they are also comfortable. Whether your pick of linen pieces come in a form of a maxi dress, crop top-high-waist bottom combo, or a wrap garment, you have a black canvas to work on and put your personal style.
