Deputy Ombudsmen for Visayas, Mindanao named

Office of the Ombudsman

President Duterte has named Anderson Ang Lo as deputy Ombudsman for Mindanao and Dante Flores Vargas as deputy Ombudsman for the Visayas.

Their appointment papers were transmitted to Chief Justice Alexander G. Gesmundo as ex-officio chairperson of the Judicial and Bar Council (JBC), the constitutional office that accepts, screens and nominates appointments to the judiciary and the Office of the Ombudsman (OMB).

Both Lo, who was undersecretary of the Presidential Management Staff (PMS), and Vargas will serve a fix term of seven years each. Lo took over the post of then Deputy Ombudsman Rodolfo Elman while Vargas was the replacement of former Deputy Ombudsman Paul Elmer Clemente.

Last March 8, the President released the appointment of Assistant Ombudsman Jose Mercado Balmeo Jr. as deputy Ombudsman of the military and other law enforcement offices (MOLEO). He will also serve a fix term of seven years.
