Masbate governor Kho signs manifesto supporting Marcos Jr.

Governor Antonio Kho of Masbate, a known bailiwick of presidential bet Vice President Leni Robredo, has sought to change the voting preference of the province in favor of another candidate, Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr., by signing a manifesto of support to the latter.

In a press release on Monday, the Marcos camp said Kho joined 17 of Masbate's 21 mayors in signing a manifesto of support in favor of Marcos Jr. and his running mate, vice presidential candidate Sara Duterte, "to dramatize their commitment."

This came after Kho, who is also seeking reelection, welcomed for a two-day Bicol leg campaign the survey frontrunner in his province on Saturday.

The governor's bid to change the voting preference of his constituents would be a long shot considering that Robredo, who hailed from the region, won over Marcos in the 2016 vice presidential race with at least 110,000 vote difference.

In endorsing Marcos Jr., Kho reiterated the presidential bet's oft-repeated message of unity by saying it is a way to progress.

"As your governor, with this forging of alliances and with his great promises, I will declare Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. as our official candidate as president,” Kho boldly declared.
