Masbate Gov. Antonio Kho pledged support on behalf of Masbate to the UniTeam tandem of presidential candidate Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. (BBM) and running mate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.
Marcos, Jr. met with Kho and mayors of Masbate province on Saturday, March 5.
“BBM kasi ngayon lang na-realize ng mga tao (people only realized now), in my own personal analysis, na ang ginawa ng ama ni Bongbong Marcos ngayon lang na-realize, tama pala ang ginagawa ( that what Bongbong Marcos’ father did was correct),” said Kho in a press interview during Marcos Jr.’s meeting with Masbate officials on March 5.
Marcos, Jr.’s father was the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos, who was best known for his declaration of Martial Law from 1972 to 1981 before being ousted from his 21-year presidency in 1986.
According to Kho, the UniTeam tandem would continue the Marcos legacy.
“BBM will continue the legacy that his father has started. Same with Sara, Sara will continue the legacy of his father,” Kho explained.
Furthermore, out of Masbate’s 20 municipalities and one city, Kho told Marcos that the mayors of 17 Masbate municipalities had also pledged support to the UniTeam tandem.
“This is another history in the making dahil (because) BBM’s rival, is also from the region. Pero bago ako mapahiya may itatanong ako sa inyo? Kaya ba nating i-maximize ang boto for BBM? (Before I am embarrassed, I have something to ask. Can we maximize the votes for BBM)?” Kho asked.
Masbate province is located in the Bicol region, VP Robredo’s native region.
Kho is a member Partido Demokratiko Pilipino–Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) and is seeking re-election as Masbate Governor in the 2022 elections.
