Denice Zamboanga is all fired up ahead of his much-awaited rematch against South Korean rival Ham Seo Hee in ONE Championship's 10th anniversary, ONE: X, at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on March 26.
The rematch marks Zamboanga's first comeback in the Circle since participating in the inaugural ONE women's atomweight grand prix last September.
The Marrok Force fighter lost to a controversial split decision against Ham at that time, a moment Zamboanga had to reflect on for many months.
With the help of Marrok Force, especially her brother Drex, who recently won his lightweight debut against Rajul Raju, Zamboanga is raring to face Ham anew and take the victory this time.
"I’ve been training hard since . I missed the Circle, and I cannot wait to be back to show everyone how much I have improved," said Zamboanga, who has an 8-1 record. "I cannot mention but what I can say is that it’s been a hard and fun training camp. I’m ready."
After Drex's win, Denice said her brother, also one of his training partners, flew back to the Philippines.
It will be a different training camp for Denice but she assured that the support from her brother has always been kicking and alive.
Ham, for her part, has not seen action since her promotional debut against Zamboanga in the grand prix.
Despite winning the bout, the South Korean veteran was not able to move to the next round due to an injury. Ham, who has a 24-8 record, was supposed to face eventual grand prix champion Stamp Fairtex.
Zamboanga, 25, is currently ranked No. 2 while Ham, 34, is the No. 3 contender in the women's atomweight division.
