Mayor Isko admits to being 'a little bit nervous' for upcoming presidential debate

Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso admitted on Saturday, Feb. 26, that he is a bit nervous but excited for the next debate with other presidential bets.

Nine out of 10 presidential candidates are set to attend the CNN Philippines’ debates on Sunday, Feb. 27.

“Nakakakaba. But just the same, sabi ko nga, aplikante kami ni Doc Willie (Ong), nagtatrabraho kami. Kailangan naming magpa-interview sa HR. Yung HR department, ‘yun ‘yung taumbayan na manonood (It makes me nervous. But just the same, as I said, Dr. Willie Ong and I are applicants. We need to be interviewed by the HR. The HR department, that's the people),” he said.

“Aplikante ka sa trabaho, sabihin mo ‘yung karanasan mo, kaya mong gawin at mga naiisip po para naman makapagpagaan sa katatayuan ng ating mga kababayan (If you're an applicant, tell about your experience, your skills and your plans to help the lives of the people)," Domagoso added.

The Aksyon Demokratiko standard bearer attended the Jessica Soho’s Presidential Interviews last Jan. 22 and the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP) Presidential Forum on Feb. 4.

Surveys conducted by big data research firm Tangere showed that 65 percent of respondents said Domagoso stood out the most among the presidentiables in the Jessica Soho interviews, as well as in the KBP Forum where he got the nod of 54 percent of the survey participants.

If elected president, the Manila mayor promised to pursue a “Life and Livelihood” economic policy that aims to address poverty, hunger, unemployment, inequality and social injustice under his 10-point Bilis Kilos Economic Agenda. (Terence Ranis)
