We need to computerize, get rid of the personal communications, that’s where corruption starts),” Ong said during the CNN Philippines vice presidential debate on Saturday. Feb. 26.

We can simplify tax payment, broaden tax payment),” he added, citing only 19 percent of the population pays taxes.

He also suggested that officials in the agency should be retired then rehired to remove “bad apples”.

Ong also said the public must be encouraged to pay taxes as these go into the salaries of the teachers in the country as well.
