Over 800 QC residents receive livelihood cash assistance


A total of 858 Quezon City residents received livelihood financial assistance on Saturday, Feb.19, from the local government's "Pangkabuhayang QC" program.

The program, launched by the city's Small Business and Cooperatives Development and Promotions Office (SBCDPO) in September 2021, aims to help individuals who have lost their jobs because of the pandemic, who wants to start small businesses.

The local government said that benificiaries from the city's sixth district on Saturday, were the 11th and 12th batch of residents who received the P10,000 to P20,000 cash aid.

It added the city will prioritize displaced workers, microentrepreneurs, Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) who lost their jobs, unemployed solo parents, and persons with disabilities.

As of Feb. 19, there are a total of 16,341 beneficiaries who have received the livelihood assistance, while 9,307 are currently undergoing the screening and approval process for the program's batch 13-18.
