TNC shocked Omega Esports with a sweet sweep to start its MPL Season 9 campaign with a bang – something that Benthings is crediting to the team’s much improved cohesion.

“Lahat po kami parang iisang galaw na po kami. Team na po kami na solid gumalaw parang di kami individual plays,” said Benthings during the post-game interview.

The squad veered away from its last season’s identity where it strived on outshining and outplaying their opponents with superb mechanical skills. TNC now has a more systematic and disciplined approach to the game, evident with the impressive performance over Omega in the two-game sweep.

“Sa scrim pa lang po dinidisiplina na po namin ‘yung team para sa MPL po parang normal day na lang po,” added Benthings. “Siguro yung nabago ko po from last season siguro po yung disiplinado.”

TNC rookies rose to the occasion with Jomarie “Escalera” Delos Santos and Robee Bryan “Yasuwo” Pormocille putting up solid performances in their debuts to help TNC notch its first win in S9.

Escalera even dictated the tempo in the series opener using an on-point Abyssal Arrows from his Selena to which Daniel “SDzyz” Chu converted into kills to spearhead TNC’s lopsided 19-3 Game 1 win. Escalera finished with a perfect 2-0-10 KDA while Yasuwo also shone on the Beatrix with a clean 6-0-2 line.

The two continued to anchor the team fights for TNC in Game 2 with Escalera contributing a 3-3-8 line on the Yve while Yasuwo had a 4-1-4 tally on Beatrix capped by a triple kill in the final clash of the match.
