PH Red Cross sends hot meals to 200 COVID-19 affected individuals in Malabon


The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Malabon Chapter on Friday, Feb. 11, sent hot meals to a total of 200 coronavirus disease affected individuals from Artex Compound, Barangay Panghulo, in Malabon City.

The is distribution is part of the PRC's "Hot Meals on Wheels" series of community feeding program. It was launched by Malabon Chapter in the city in February 2022.

"Ang aming layunin ay magbigay ng pag asa sa mga nangangailangan lalo na ngayong pandemya. Anuman ang mangyari, patuloy lang ang pagserbisyo ng Red Cross volunteers at staff upang mas marami pang matulungan na mga Pilipino sa iba't ibang sulok ng Pilipinas (Our goal is to give hope to those who are in need especially during this pandemic . No matter what happens, Red Cross volunteers and staff will continue to serve to help more Filipinos from different parts of the Philippines," PRC Chairman Senator Dick Gordon said.

The PRC Malabon Chapter said that it has already provided 600 meals since the program which targets children and senior citizens began in the city.

There are 150 beneficiaries from Katarungan Street, Barangay Muzon last Feb. 2, and another 150 from N. Vicencio Street in Brgy. Nuigan on Feb. 3, who recieved the hot meals (includes chicken, egg, and rice).

The PRC also conducted a community feeding program on Feb. 8, serving 300 beneficiaries from Barangay Potrero.
