On Valentine's Day, Eleazar highlights patience as he shares his love story

Still waiting for your true love?

Former national police chief and senatorial candidate has this love advice.

Eleazar advised all the singles out there to be patient for their true love as he shared his own love story, which he said, came in an unexpected way.

This is the story of Guillor, Eleazar's nickname, and his wife Lally.

He recalled that while on his first assignment after graduating from the Philippine Military Academy (PMA), almost everyone inside a military camp in Lucena City, where he was then assigned, was talking about the visit of a daughter of a ranking officer of the Judge Advocate General’s Office (JAGO).

During that time, Eleazar said he initially did not mind it as he was busy working on a task that was specifically given to him by his superior.

But curiosity, out of the persistent talks even inside the office where he was assigned, later prevailed and made him decide to take a look on what the fuss was all about.

Eleazar said he would never forget that moment when he first saw Rosalie, fondly called Lally by her parents and friends, inside the camp.

“The moment I first laid my eyes on her, there’s this unexplained feeling that she’s the one,” said Eleazar.

The problem, however, was that nobody would dare to even get near her since Lally’s father was known to be strict and protective of his only child.

But love, they say, always provides enough courage to conquer even the worst of one’s fear and that love-driven courage finds its way to the heart of young Guillor to face her father and ask for his permission to court Lally.

Guillor and Lally, who was then a flight attendant, then got married in a civil wedding on February 17, 1992 and two years later, got married again in a Church wedding.

They will be celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary on February 17 this year.

Lally has been very supportive of her husband as revealed by her presence in some of the campaign sorties of Eleazar in various parts of the country. Recently, the Tiktok video of the couple dancing the popular Paro-Paro G went viral with more than two million views and thousands of likes and comments.

Patience

“Para sa mga hindi pa nakikita ang kanilang ‘the one’ ay hintay lang tayo at baka naman naka-quarantine o naka-lockdown pa ang para sa inyo, o baka naman kakapanganak pa lang ng inyong magiging true love (For those who are still waiting for their 'the one', just wait because maybe they are still under quarantine or under lockdown, or, maybe they have just been born),” said Eleazar in jest.

He, however, emphasized the importance of family which he said is the cradle and center of the true meaning of love as manifested by the unconditional love shown especially by the parents.
