Partido Reporma standard bearer Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson said he respects the decision of Cavite Governor Jonvic Remulla to endorse fellow presidential candidate former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr.
Last Friday, Remulla formally pledged Cavite’s full support and endorsement of Marcos, Jr. and his running mate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio for president and vice president, along with the UniTeam Alliance’s senatorial slate, according to the Marcos-Duterte-Carpio camp.
Nevertheless, the Cavite-born senator said he would continue to ask for Remulla’s help to give him a chance to be of service to the country.
“While I respect our governor’s decision to openly support another candidate, I will continue to humbly ask for your help to give me the chance to be of service to our country,” Lacson said in a post on Twitter on Saturday.
“Wherever this journey brings me, as its loyal son, I will continue to love and serve our beloved Cavite,” he said.
Lacson and his running mate Senate President Vicente Sotto III kicked off their campaign with a proclamation rally last February 8 in Imus, Cavite. A known vote-rich province, Cavite had 2.15 million registered voters in 2019.
