Action PH notched its second win in the VCT 2022 Challengers PH at the expense of the debuting Oasis Gaming, 2-1, in their best-of-three match on Friday, Feb. 11.
APH shrugged off a second map defeat and capped the match with a dominant 13-2 series-clinching win in Game 3 in Icebox. George "Georggyyy" Lachica on the Jett spearheaded the attack for Action PH in the decider and finished with 22 kills on a 2.3 KDA.
After falling behind early in Game 2 in Ascent, APH made sure to seize control right off the gates in Game 3 as it took a 5-1 advantage in the early goings of the first half. Action PH only surrendered one more game since that point as it built a commanding 10-2 lead at the half.
APH then only needed three rounds after the switch to dispatch Oasis and take the top spot in the Group B standings with a 2-0 win-loss slate.
The squad came out on fire in the first map in Haven after racing to a 6-0 start on the defenders’ side. Oasis was able to retaliate to cut the lead down to 8-4 at the half.
APH, however, proved to be steadier after the switch as it closed out the opener, 13-5, behind Emmanuel "Emman" Morales who unloaded 24 kills on the Skye.
Oasis then used a 9-3 cushion in the first half of the second map to keep Action PH at bay despite the latter’s 8-1 start after the switch. With the searing second half run, APH managed to the tie the game at 11-all. Oasis, though, prevailed in the last two round of the map for a 13-11 Game 2 win to force the winner-take-all.
Markyy on the Jett starred in that match with 20 kills for Oasis, neutralizing Georgyyy’s 24 kills on the same agent.
