Bongbong camp denies alleged plan to give P200 each to proclamation attendees

The camp of presidential candidate Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has belied allegations on social media that the individuals invited to attend the Marcos-Sara Duterte-Carpio proclamation rally at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan would be paid P200 each.

Lawyer Vic Rodriguez, Marcos Jr.’s spokesman, said in a press conference Tuesday, Feb. 8, that the purported invitation is only “black propaganda,” which “until now is being done.”

He further described it as “cheap political gimmicks".

The social media posts claimed that aside from the P200, the attendees would also receive food and a t-shirt.

Rodriguez maintained that the proclamation rally, which is expected to be attended by 25,000 supporters, is for free.

“This is the offer of Bongbong Marcos and Sara Duterte sa milyun-milyong supporters nila na hindi bumibitiw at higit pang dumarami by the day (to their millions of supporters who stuck around and are increasing by the day),” he added.
