Pasay City vaccinates 370 kids aged 5-11

A total of 370 children received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine at the start of vaccination rollout for kids aged five to 11 years old in Pasay City on Monday, Feb. 7.

The city government was targeting to inoculate around 500 kids on the first day, but only 370 showed up for inoculation against COVID-19 at the city’s mega vaccination site in SM Mall of Asia (MOA).

Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano and some City Hall officials personally visited the vaccination site and gave Jollibee meals to children who came early.

Rubiano said “Tom and Joy” mascots from Tom’s World roamed around the site waving and dancing to entertain the children.

She said the SM MOA also placed some booths where parents can buy toys for their children at a cheaper price after getting vaccinated.

The mayor said photos of Star Wars character Storm Trooper, and Alvin and the chipmunks were also placed around the vaccination site.

Rubiano said around 3,500 children have registered to receive the COVID-19 vaccine in the city.
