Pacquiao backs Senate panel’s Pharmally probe report

Senator Emmanuel “Manny” Pacquiao on Wednesday threw his support to the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee’s partial report on its investigation into the government’s alleged anomalous procurement of COVID-19 pandemic supplies.

Pacquiao personally joined Sen. Richard Gordon’s online press briefing to express his satisfaction on the Senate panel’s partial committee report and said he will sign it “without any reservations.”

Pacquiao, who is running for the presidential elections in the upcoming May 2022 elections, appealed to other senators to respect the Senate panel’s report and recommendations.

“I fully support the Blue Ribbon Committee Report. Totoo ang lahat ng sinasabi doon ni Sen. Gordon (Everything Sen. Gordon said in the report is true),” Pacquiao said during the online briefing with reporters.

“Lahat naman nang iyan ay dumaan sa imbestigasyon, hindi naman isang beses lang ang hearing. Tiwala ako kay Sen. Gordon (Everything was scrutinized in the investigation, and the hearing was not only done once. I fully trust Sen. Gordon),” said Pacquiao, who is also running for the presidential elections in the upcoming May 2022 elections.

“Dapat respetuhin at igalang ng lahat (Everyone should respect and honor the findings),” he added.

Gordon echoed Pacquiao’s appeal saying he hopes that the result of the Senate panel’s investigation would not cause division in the Senate.

According to Gordon, a substantial number of senators have also expressed their support to the committee report, saying its hard to go against the President.

“I hope hindi mahati ang Senado (I hope it won’t divide the Senate) on partisan politics.. sana its between truth and lies,” Gordon stressed.

According to Gordon, he will report the committee’s findings and recommendation on the Senate floor this afternoon, during the plenary session.
