K-pop superstars BTS emerged as the biggest winner at the 11th Gaon Chart Music Awards ceremony held on Jan. 27.
The music awards show recognized top albums, digital music and artists covering the period December 2020 to November 2021.
BTS won eight awards. They bagged Artist of the Year (digital music) for the months of May for “Butter,” July for “Permission to Dance” and September for “My Universe,” which was a collaboration with Coldplay.
For Artist of the Year under physical albums (quarterly), BTS won the third quarter of 2021 with “Butter.” ‘
They also won Retail Album of the Year for “Butter,” Music Steady Seller of the Year for “Dynamite” and Social Hot Star of the Year.
