Cops seize P40.8M worth of shabu, arrest 2 in Makati City buy-bust

Anti-narcotics operatives of the Philippine National Police (PNP) arrested on Wednesday, Jan 27, two suspected pushers after they yielded some P40 million worth of shabu during a buy-bust in Makati City.

Nabbed were Bryan Salceda, 26; and Jerome Gaje, 27. Both are residents of Pasay City.

Brig. Gen. Remus Medina, director of the PNP Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG), said the two were collared in an apartment building on Hilario Street in Barangay Palanan, Makati at around 7:30 p.m. p.m.

He said the operation stemmed from confirmed intelligence reports about the illegal drugs trade of the suspects.

Medina said his men announced the arrest after the transaction for a kilo of shabu with the suspects.

A total of six kilos of shabu were seized from the suspects. Authorities said the confiscated items have a street value of P40.8 million.

Medina said they are now conducting investigation to identify the other cohorts of the suspects as well as their source.

Charges of violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be slapped against the two arrested suspects.
