The Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) on the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (MEID) could announce a downgrade to Alert Level 2 for Metro Manila before Feb. 1, 2022, as the OCTA Research Group expressed hope that the National Capital Region (NCR) could be categorized as “moderate risk” with the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) as early as next week.
However, as COVID numbers continued to go down in Metro Manila, the IATF raised concern over the uptrend in infections in major cities outside NCR.
And as the vaccination of children aged 5 to 11 years old draws near, a member of the National Immunization Technical Advisory Group (NITAG) noted the 91 percent effectivity of the Pfizer/Biontech vaccine against the coronavirus.
Meanwhile, more teachers are coming forward with complaints about unauthorized online transactions affecting their payroll accounts.
