Liyab Esports, six other teams join Fennel in Wild Rift Men’s Sibol tryouts Phase 2


Liyab Esports and six other teams join Fennel Adversity in Phase 2 of the Wild Rift Men’s Division Sibol qualifier on Friday, Jan. 21.

Liyab, which is bannered by its former League of Legends pro players, swept its assignments in the tournament to claim one of the seven spots in Phase 2 which is set to fire off on Thursday, Jan. 27.

It recently unveiled its lineup of Jay “Speltz” Tabarangao, Edrian “Doedoii” Brancia, Jhon Mike “Xyliath” Tungol, and Ren “Kanji” Motomitsu, all from its LoL PC team and former Fennel player Sebastian "Sho" Umali and Oasis Gaming Klyde "Klyde" Abello.

Giga, LF adoption and Nigma Galaxy also easily cruised to Phase 2 with their own unbeaten runs while Kosa Nostra, Fervent Esports and Grindsky Esports, despite losing in the third round of the tournament, advanced to the next round after finishing at the 5th to 7th spots respectively.

The top team at the end of the tournament will get the chance to don the national tri-colors in the 31st Southeast Asian Games in Hanoi, Vietnam in May.

Meanwhile, PH’s top Wild Rift team, Team Secret reportedly begged off from the tournament as the biennial meet, might go in conflict with Wild Rift World Championship which according to Riot Games, is also set to happen in the summer.
