Actress Park Shin-hye on her marriage to Choi Tae-joon: Thank you for the blessings


Korean actress Park Shin-hye’s wedding to actor Choi Tae-joon became a star-studded grand affair and she thanked everyone for the greetings.

Park Shin-hye, 31, and Choi Tae-joon, 30, got married on Jan. 22 at the Oryun Community Church in Gangdong-gu, Seoul.

Among those who attended the wedding ceremony were Lee Min-ho, Super Junior’s Leeteuk, Nam Goong-min, IU, Lee Seo-jin, Yoo Yeon-seok, Ryu Jun-yeol, AOA’s Seolhyun, Lee Sun-bin, Lee Dong-hwi, Bae Jeong-nam, former rhythmic gymnast Son Yeon-jae, Kim Myung-min, Kim Bum, 2PM’s Chansung, Nam Ji-hyun, Seulong, Oh Yeon-seo, Uhm Ji-won, Yoon Kyun-sang and Kim Ye-won.

At the wedding ceremony, EXO’s D.O., FT Island’s Hongki, Crush and Lee Juck sang original soundtracks from Korean dramas. Zico, a friend of Choi Tae-joon, read a letter addressed to the couple.

The highlight of the event was when the couple recited their wedding vows. Choi Tae-joon raised one hand to make a pledge.

"I, Choi Tae-Joon, take you Park Shin-Hye as my wife, and pledge to love and cherish you for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health.”

She replied, “I, Park Shin-hye, take you Choi Tae-joon as my husband, and pledge to love and cherish you for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer,” according to Korean media. After saying this, Park Shin-hye cried.

After the wedding, Park Shin-hye took to Instagram and posted photos of her wearing the Korean traditional dress hanbok and the coronet jokduri.

“Thank you to everyone who sent many blessings and congratulations,” wrote Park Shin-hye.

During the wedding, Hongki sang “I’m Saying” OST used for the 2013 drama “The Heirs,” which starred Park Shin-hye, Lee Min-ho and Kim Woo-bin.

EXO’s D.O. and Crush sang “Beautiful,” the OST for the 2016 drama “Guardian: The Lonely and Great God” (aka “Goblin”). Lee Juck sang his “It’s Fortunate” at the wedding.

Park Shin-hye and Choi Tae-joon got married four years after getting together by the end of 2017. They admitted their relationship in March 2018.

Hours before Park Shin-hye’s wedding, her agency, Salt Entertainment, released photos of the couple’s pre-wedding pictorial.

“Today, actress Park Shin-hye is getting married to actor Choi Tae-joon. Please support actress Park Shin-hye. We would like to thank everyone who gave their blessing. In the future, actress Park Shin-hye will do her best to show a good image to everyone. Thank you for your warm support,” according to the agency.

Last Nov. 23, Park Shin-hye announced that she was getting married and she was pregnant with Choi Tae-joon’s baby.

“I am getting married to the person I have been seeing for a while now. He was my pillar of support for a long time, and he embraced the person Park Shin Hye with all of her lacking qualities. So I'm planning to start a new life with him as a married couple,” she wrote, according to SBS News.

She added, “Furthermore, although I am a little hesitant to discuss this since it is still in its very early stages, but while we began preparing for our marriage, a precious new life came to us. I wanted to share this news to you first, most of all,” the actress said about her pregnancy.”

Park Shin-hye and Choi Tae-joon both started as child actors and studied at Chung-Ang University.

She appeared as the young Choi Ji-woo in “Stairway to Heaven.” Her drama and film credits include “#Alive,” “The Call,” “The Heirs,” “You’re Beautiful,” “Heartstrings,” “Memories of the Alhambra” and “Miracle in Cell No.7.”
