Boracay is world’s 2nd most Instagrammable place

Despite the tourism backlash of the pandemic, world-famous Boracay Island is second in the list of the world’s Instagrammable places.

“Teeny tiny Boracay is fast becoming the Philippines’ top tourist draw – and in a country spanning 7,500 islands, that’s saying a lot. From dreamy sunsets on sandy beaches to fire dances to bustling bars, the gram opportunities here are endless,” Big 7 Travel website said.

The resort island located in Malay town, Aklan province is the only Philippine destination to be included in Big 7 Travel’s 50 Most Instagrammable Places for 2022, which was released this week.

Boracay is only one of the three Asian destinations to make the Top 10 list. The others are Singapore (ranked 1st) and Ha Long Bay, Vietnam (10th).

Boracay was even ahead of Oahu, one of the major islands of the state of Hawaii that ranked third.

Boracay’s inclusion in the Instagrammable list is one of the many it garnered during the almost two-year pandemic. Last year, Boracay also ranked second in the same list released by Big Travel 7.

Boracay was also included among Asia’s top beaches in a list released by Trip Advisor.

Since March 2020, Boracay was closed off to tourists several times even when it reopened its doors as COVID-19 spiked at various periods.
