Police nab American fugitive in Dagupan City


DAGUPAN CITY, Pangasinan – Authorities have nabbed an American national fugitive in Dagupan City on Monday, January 17.

Joint operatives of Pangasinan Police Provincial Office (PPO) Intelligence Unit, together with FSU agents in coordination with ISAFP, Unified Intelligence – NOLCOM, arrested Rexfordgay Sanculi Velasco, a US national.

Information from the Pangasinan PPO reveals he was arrested at 777-A Calarin Street in Barangay Malued, Dagupan City.

Prior to the arrest, authorities received information from Special Agent Michael Kin of the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, US Department of Navy at the US Embassy on December 8, 2021, that Velasco was identified as an undesirable and overstaying alien.

Furthermore, the suspect is subject to an outstanding Federal warrant of arrest dated May 25, 2005 by the US Marine Corps Absentee Collection Center.

It reveals that Velasco was a deserter, having gone AWOL in his service.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ferdinand de Asis, Public Information Officer of the Pangasinan PPO, said Velasco will be turned over to the Bureau of Immigration for proper disposition.

Furthermore, Police Colonel Richmond Tadina, Pangasinan PPO Director, said the police does not condone international criminals to stay in the country.

“We will make sure that these criminals will be placed behind bars”, said Tadina.
