A person deprived of liberty (PDL) has died after being shot by his fellow inmates who escaped last Jan. 17 from the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa City has died.

Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) Deputy Director General Gabriel P. Chaclag said:

“While they (inmates) were escaping, may PDL din po na wala silang pakundangan na binaril at naging wounded po iyon (The escapees without remorse shot a fellow inmate who got hurt).

“But we have received news yesterday (Jan. 18) that the PDL na nabaril nila ay nag-expire na po at yun po ay palaya na po sana within this month (But we have received news yesterday that the wounded PDL who was supposed to be released this month has died).”

While Chaclag did not identify the dead PDL. But the Muntinlupa City police – in a sketchy report issued last Jan. 17 – stated that PDL Michael Dullavin, 46, was hurt and brought to the Ospital ng Muntinlupa.

Two of the three PDLs who escaped had been killed by government forces in separate encounters. They were identified as Arwin V. Bio and Pacifico V. Adlawan.

The third escapee, who is now subject of massive manhunt, was identified as Drakilou Y. Falcon.

However, BuCor discovered a fourth escapee in the person of PDL Chris Candas Ablas who had been missing since last Jan. 17 and was believed to be with of Bio, Adlawan, and Falcon.

Chaclag said the BuCor and the Philippine National Police (PNP) continue to conduct manhunt operations against the two remaining Bilibid escapees – Falcon and Ablas.

“Our latest information was that they were seen together sa may (near) Southville 3,” Chaclag said. Southville 3 is a subdivision outside of the NBP reservation.
