Tests for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) may soon be administered right in the comfort of one’s home after the Department of Health (DOH) vowed to release the certification for self-test kits in seven to 10 days.

And to further boost the country’s vaccination drive, the Palace is pushing for the immediate roll out of the administration of booster shots in select drug stores and clinics.

Meanwhile, even President Duterte’s schedule is being affected by the Omicron-fueled COVID-19 surge as many of those who he’s supposed to meet with have either fallen ill or have had to beg off due to exposure to infected cases. These include some members of his staff.

In another infrastructure milestone, the contract to build the P142-billion, 380-kilometer Calamba to Albay line of the Philippine National Railway (PNR) has been signed. It will be the first phase of a project that will extend to as far as Sorsogon.
