COVID-19 positive woman stopped from traveling to Capiz


ILOILO CITY — Local authorities were able to stop a woman infected with COVID-19 in going to her home province of Capiz from Iloilo City.

Jeck Conlu, the COVID-19 spokesman of the Iloilo City government, said that a team was able to intercept the woman at a bus terminal in Jaro district morning of Monday, January 17.

The 24-year-old woman is working in Iloilo City.

In a Monday press conference, Conul said the woman initially underwent swab test after experiencing symptoms such as fever and has been coughing.

When the result was released and the COVID-19 team tried to call her, she could no longer be reached.

The COVID-19 team was able to get information that the woman was on her way to the bus terminal as she was planning to go home to Capiz.

Conlu said the team arrived there just in time to intercept her and stop the chain of infecting others including bus passengers.

The woman was later taken to a quarantine facility of the city government.
