Modes of voting for overseas voters set


Filipino voters overseas take note.

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has released a resolution stating which Philippine posts abroad will use the postal or personal mode of voting, the automated and manual system in the May 2022 polls.

In Minute Resolution No. 21-1356, the postal-manual system will be used in Beijing, Chongqing, Dhaka, Guangzhou, Hanoi, Islamabad, Port Moresby, Yangon, Ankara, Berlin, Berne, Brussels, Budapest, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, Geneva, Istanbul, Lisbon, Moscow, Oslo, Paris, Prague, Stockholm, The Hague, Vienna, Warsaw, Abuja, Cairo, Nairobi, Pretoria, Rabat, Tehran, Brasilia, Buenos Aires, Mexico, and Santiago.

Set to use the postal-automated system are Bangkok, Canberra, Kaohsiung, Melbourne, Nagoya, Osaka, Singapore, Sydney, Tokyo, Wellington, Athens, Barcelona, London, Rome, Agana, Calgary, Chicago, Honolulu, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, Ottawa, San Francisco, Toronto, Vancouver, and Washington.

While those in Dili, Jakarta, Manado, New Delhi, Phnom Penh, Shanghai, Vientiane, Xiamen, Vatican, and Damascus will use personal-manual system.

As for those in Brunei, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Macau, Taipei, Seoul, Madrid, Milan, Abu Dhabi, Amman, Beirut, Doha, Dubai, Jeddah, Kuwait, Manama, Muscat, Al Khobar, Riyadh, and Tel Aviv it will be the personal-automated system.

The Comelec has set overseas voting period from April 10, 2022 to May 9, 2022.
