Jack Animam underwent surgery on her left knee a month after a stint in Serbia was cut short by the said injury.
Animam posted an Instagram story of herself wearing a hospital gown shortly before going under the knife in the United States.
“Let’s get this done,” Animam said, adding: “A totally different outfit for me.”
The long-time national team mainstay had been playing well for Radnicki Kragujevac of Serbia’s new professional women’s basketball league, averaging a double-double in eight games.
Radnicki had a 4-4 slate when Animam missed the next two games between late-November and early-December.
The club eventually announced the ex-National University star’s departure while wishing her a speedy recovery.
The injury is a setback for Animam, who was said to be setting her sights on this year’s WNBA Draft.
