Pasay City’s 201 barangays now have COVID cases

The Pasay City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit is doubling its effort at contact tracing after all of the city’s 201 barangays recorded a number of individuals afflicted with COVID-19.

The barangays with the highest number of COVID-19 cases are 183 with 322, and 201 with 163.

Based on the report of CESU head Miko Llorca to Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano, the city government recorded 338 new cases on Monday, Jan. 10, bringing to 2,404 the total number of confirmed cases in the city.

Lllorca said 64 barangays with 829 houses were already placed under the localized enhanced community quarantine (LECQ).

He said the city government is asking for the full cooperation of the residents because of the fast transmission of COVID-19 in the city.

The CESU chief said the police, with the help of the barangays, are strictly monitoring the movements of individuals in communities placed under the LECQ.

The police are also strictly implementing the order of Rubiano restricting the movements of unvaccinated individuals.
