Intel cop shot dead in N. Samar

TACLOBAN CITY – A pursuit operation was launched by police authorities after an intel cop was shot dead by still unidentified perpetrators in Catubig, Northern Samar Monday (January 10).

The victim was identified as PSSg Joerel Pajac, 39, assigned at the Northern Samar Police Intelligence Units (NSPIU), and a resident of Brgy. Calingnan of said town.

Initial investigation revealed that the victim was on board a motorboat from Sitio Ugkad, Brgy. Calingnan going to his residence in the said barangay.

When the victim was about to disembark from the motorboat, four armed malefactors suddenly appeared and shot the victim several times.

The victim jumped into the river to escape.

However, the suspects continued shooting at him.After the incident, they fled towards the direction of Brgy. San Francisco Catubig.

His body was later recovered floating on the river.
