Twelve personnel of the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa City have been placed in its quarantine facility after being tested positive with the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the Bureau of Corrections said on Monday, Jan. 10.
The BuCor’s Directorate for Health Services (DHS) disclosed that the 12 personnel who have been confined at “Site Harry,” were among the 91 personnel who tested positive with COVID-19 as of Jan. 6.
But, the DHS said, those not confined in BuCor’s quarantine facility have been ordered to undergo home quarantine.
As of Jan. 9, a total of 3,611 of 3,961 NBP personnel had been vaccinated.
At the Correctional Institution for Women (CIW) in Mandaluyong City 138 personnel had been vaccinated; Sablayan Prison and Penal Farm (SPPF) in Occidental Mindoro, 213; San Ramon Prison and Penal Farm (SRPPF) in Zamboanga City, 280; Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm (IPPF) in Palawan, 257; Leyte Regional Prison (LRP), 205; and Davao Prison and Penal Farm (DPPF), 528.
As of last Jan. 4, a total of 46,045 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) in BuCor’s seven prison facilities nationwide had been vaccinated.
Of those vaccinated, 25,238 PDLs had received their full doses while 20,817 others had gotten their first dose.
