Award-winning actress Angel Aquino on Tuesday, Jan. 4, joined Frontliners for Leni in a virtual move-a-thon aimed at creating awareness and gathering support for the presidential bid of Vice President Leni Robredo, as well as raising funds for the benefit of communities affected by Typhoon “Odette”.

Takbo ng Pag-asa para sa Bayan, which started on Dec. 8 and will end on Wednesday, Jan. 5, encouraged participants to “run, walk, or bike” on their own.

In an Instagram post, Aquino said the event also seeks to create awareness, promote good health and raise funds for Frontliners for Leni’s medical missions and outreach programs.

“Simulan natin ang araw na may Pag-asa. Tumakbo, maglakad at magbisikleta na para sa bayan (Let us start the day with hope. Run, walk, and bike for the country),” she added.

The actress encouraged the public to bring their family and friends to the event as registration is free and still open until Wednesday.

“The more, the merrier!” Aquino said.

Participants of the event can use their own GPS app, fitness watch, ordinary watch, cellphone with timer, pedometer (steps counter), treadmill, or bike trainer to record the route and time.

Participants need to send a screenshot of the route, photo of the app or fitness watch, photo of the treadmill or bike trainer dashboard to get their e-certificate.

Those without gadgets can send photos of their watch, timer, or cellphone and a selfie while running, walking, or bicycling.

According to the organizers, part of the proceeds will also be used for Frontliners for Leni’s relief efforts for victims of Typhoon Odette, as well as the group’s medical missions and outreach programs.
