Artists from the Visayas and Mindanao

Curve Entertainment recently signed up artists from the Visayas and Mindanao region who are undoubtedly talented and ready to unleash their hidden gems within.

Dandbroom is a five-member electro-pop-funk band from Dumaguete City’s Silliman University. Their name is simple and really not anything deep and well thought-out. The three original members – Niño Ray Legaspi on vocals, Boy2 Laviste on guitars, Hart Fortuito on bass – were the ones who gave the unique name of the group.

Their first single, “Spiral,” was culled from their upcoming four-track EP titled “WAYDO (What Are You Dreaming Of?).” The two other members are Jerico Go on keyboards and Johnkyle Bersabal on drums.

Two decades ago, another five-member group, Insights, made their mark in the local music charts with their hit singles “More Than A Heartbeat “and “Just For A While.” Going through adulthood has taken its toll on the members, who pursued other personal interests and opted to be based in their hometown in Iligan City. However, their music did not change through the years. They are still into pop rock and love songs.

The group was reborn in 2020 and released their latest singles, “Superhero” and “Let’s Start Over Again.” Today’s members are Christian Actub on bass guitar, his cousins Allen on vocals and Richie Actub on lead guitars, Anthon Avila on bass, Dennis Alvarez on vocals and Totie Benavente on keyboards. One OPM Music Group’s Jason Ramos helped them Insights in regrouping.

From Cagayan de Oro City comes the pop-alternative band, Inside City, with Clyde Aquino on vocals, Mark Chester Crisostomo on lead and rhythm guitar, Jay Mark Crisostomo on drums, Allan Satore on bass and Kris Penero on keyboards. After their debut single, “Balik Tanaw,” the group is recording new songs they are willing to share with everyone.

Also from CDO is 19-year-old singer-songwriter-producer-rapper Jean Alejandro, who is set to release his debut single, “Hostage,” that will be one of the tracks in his debut album to be completed in summer 2022.

Jean is part of an upcoming artist collective in the city named Rooftop Music Group that includes 17-year-old rapper Nier V, whose debut single, “Push Mid,” attempts at breaking through the language barrier. His second single is “Empire.”

H20 is a seven-piece band from Iligan City composed of a family of musicians and close friends. With three songs up their alley – “Bet Kita,” “Pwede Ba” and the newest, “Pinagpalit” – H20’s passion is to create and take their music to the next level.
