Pasay City Mayor Emi tests positive for COVID for the 3rd time

Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19) for the third time.

According to her chief of staff, Peter Pardo, Rubiano is now in isolation in an undisclosed health facility.

Pardo did not say what type of variant infected the mayor, but she is “symptomatic.”

He said the mayor felt unwell on Saturday last week and started having a sore throat.

The mayor immediately underwent an RT-PCR test and was found positive for COVID-19.

The result, according to sources, was sent to the Philippine Genome Center to determine the variant of COVID-19 that Rubiano has.

Pardo said the mayor will continue to discharge her functions as chief executive and will hold online meetings while recuperating.

Rubiano was COVID-infected in February and July last year.
