San Juan City, NCRPO honor security guard in foiled store robbery

The San Juan City local government, together with the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), commended security guard Roderick Ricafrente for his bravery in stopping an armed robbery in a convenience store in Barangay Greenhills last Friday.

Ricafrente’s feat led to the arrest of four suspects.

San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora, together with NCRPO director Police Major Gen. Vicente Danao and other city and police officials, led the ceremony at the San Juan Police Station on Tuesday.

Ricafrente was awarded the Medalya ng Katangitanging Asal (PNP Outstanding Conduct Medal) for exhibiting this heroic act in thwarting the robbery.

The Medalya ng Katangitanging Asal is awarded to any quasi police force member or other civilian volunteer for the heroic acts by the individual while in action involving actual conflict with an enemy in a crime situation or life saving situation, distinguishing himself conspicuously by gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of life above and beyond the call of duty.

He also received a plaque of recognition from Danao and other items such as groceries worth P5,000, foot wears, health kits, vest, and two sacks of rice.

A certificate was also given to him by acting chief of police, Col. Elpidio Ramirez, while Zamora gave him a cash incentive of P10,000.

Meanwhile, a number of police personnel from San Juan City Police were also awarded for their excellent job in maintaining peace and order in the city.

Zamora gave each of them P3,000 cash incentive and a sack of rice.
