Caloocan COVID-19 frontliners to get free flu shots, vitamins

Around 5,000 COVID-19 frontliners will be receiving free flu shots and vitamins from the Caloocan city government starting Sept. 13.

“Batid natin na ang nasa 5,000 empleyado o ang mga frontliner ng ating lokal na pamahalaan ay araw-araw humaharap sa peligro ng pandemya. Kaya naman, bukod sa COVID-19 vaccine, gusto natin bigyan sila ng karagdagang proteksyon upang patuloy silang makapaglingkod sa mga taga-Caloocan (We know that around 5,000 employees or frontliners of our city are facing the dangers of the pandemic every day. That is why, aside from COVID-19 vaccine, we would like to give them added protection so they can continue to serve the Caloocan residents),” Mayor Oca Malapitan said.

Those who will be eligible for the free vaccine and vitamin include those working in healthcare services, peace and order, emergency response, and environmental sanitation.

Employees who will be prioritized in the vaccination are those working at Caloocan City Medical Center, Caloocan City North Medical Center, City Health Department, City Social Welfare and Development Department, Public Safety and Traffic Management Department, City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office, Community Relations Office, City Environmental Management Department, and Office for Senior Citizens Affairs.

The flu shot vaccination will be done at the Bulwagang Katipunan (South) and SDC Covered Court (North).
