Another revamp effected as PNP's number 3 man is set to retire

Police Lt. Gen. Ephraim Dickson was named as the number four man of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in another top level reshuffle that would be triggered by the retirement of a senior police official.

Dickson will assume the post of The Chief of the Directorial Staff. He will replace Lt. Gen. Joselito Vera Cruz who will automatically take over the position of Lt. Gen. Cesar Hawthorne Binag as the PNP Deputy Chief for Operations, the third highest position in the PNP.

Binag, a member of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Class 1987, is set to bow out of service on April 24 when he would reach the mandatory retirement age of 56.

The position that would be vacated by Dickson as the director of the Directorate for Integrated Police Operations (DIPO-Northern Luzon) will be taken over by Maj. Gen. Manuel Abu.

PNP chief Gen. Debold Sinas said the position that would be vacated by Abu as director of the Directorate for Human Resources and Doctrine Development will still be filled up.

Sinas, Vera Cruz, Dickson and PNP deputy chief for Administration Lt. Gen. Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar are all members of the PMA Class 1987.

Another major revamp is expected to happen next month with the retirement of Sinas on May 8.
