Mrs. World Philippines Meranie Gadiana Rahman aims to bring home the first Mrs. World crown for the Philippines. The international beauty pageant will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada on Jan. 15, 2022.
The road to the crown became a colorful and challenging journey for Meranie as she experienced first-hand the strength of typhoon "Odette."
The beauty queen was in Cagayan de Oro, Misamis Oriental a few days ago for an outreach program when she experienced the stormy weather. “I was really scared! Much more for my son and family! It’s the worst typhoon I’ve ever experienced! The typhoon victims need food, shelter and rebuilding. Their stories need to be told in the international community, 'yun ang kailangan,” said Rahman.
She added that her family lost a great deal of property investment because of the typhoon.
“My parents are into farming also. We planted these trees to harvest them in their maturity after eight years, but everything went down with the typhoon. I don’t want to complain because there’s already so much suffering sa mga kababayan natin. I just want to help! That is my purpose,” she added.

It feels like the first time exposure for reigning Miss Philippines Earth-Fire Roni Meneses in her first big public appearance in almost two years.
“It's my first public event after a very long time. And I’d like to thank Ms. Anne Barretto for getting me as one of her ambassadors," Roni said at the Hey Pretty Aesthetics launch in Tagaytay City.
As the pandemic restrictions ease, Meneses hopes to work with Barretto on-site in building self-employment and livelihood programs for other women.
The beauty queen hopes to clinch another crown in the 2022 edition of Binibining Pilipinas or Miss World Philippines.

Last Dec. 30, the TV5 series "Niña Niño" joined the top-streaming platform, Netflix.
