Cavite PNP destroys P150,000 worth of illegal firecrackers


IMUS CITY, Cavite – Seized illegal firecrackers and pyrotechnic devices worth P149,445 were destroyed at Camp Gen. Pantaleon Garcia on Friday (Dec. 31).

The ceremonial disposal was led by the officials of the Cavite Philippine National Police (Cavite PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection, and representatives of local government units.

The banned firecrackers were confiscated from various parts of the province during the Three-day Simultaneous Anti-Criminality and Law Enforcement Operations held from Dec. 29-31.

During the ceremony, Cavite PNP Provincial director Col. Arnold Abad expressed empathy for the loss of business capital among sellers but reiterated that public safety must be prioritized.
