Bongbong's New Year's wish: Filipinos to be 'free from all hardships'

Presidential aspirant Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. has expressed hope for a better life for the Filipino people, "free from all the hardships that we experienced this past two years," in 2022.

For his new year's wish on Friday, Dec. 31, Marcos Jr. said he wants Filipinos to be "free from the economic burden" as well as "free to pursue our hopes and aspirations."

The presidential aspirant added he wishes us to be "free from the debilitating effects of the pandemic, and most of all free to choose our leaders who will usher us to the next chapter of our country's history."

Marcos Jr. said we must think beyond grief and "focus our minds and energy as we look forward to a better New Year."

"We have proven that we, as a nation, are resilient and resolute. Let us once again dig deep inside ourselves and let our persevering spirit guide us in our effort to turn our miseries into joy, our pain into happiness, and our hopelessness into faith and optimism," he said.

The presidential aspirant said he already has plans for the country, which will become possible if elected in the highest post in the country.

"The New Year will usher us into a new beginning. A new dream, a new hope. But in the end all of these can only come true if we stand as one," he said.

"One nation, one people. Sa bandang huli ay matutupad lamang ang ating mga pangarap na ibangon muli ang ating bayan kung tayo ay may iisang adhikain at may iisang paniniwala (In the end, we will only make our dreams come true if we have one goal and one belief)," he added.
