Immigration bureau opens new planning office


The Bureau of Immigration (BI) formed a new office to monitor and oversee the agency's projects and programs, it announced Thursday, Dec. 30.

BI Commissioner Jaime Morente said the planning and policy division (PPD) is now operational and manned by 19 personnel.

It is holding office at the BF Condominium located near the main office of the bureau in Intramuros, Manila.

The PPD's priority programs include expansion of the monitoring system of major airports and th electronic gates at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

The new office will work out the automation and linkages of primary, secondary and tertiary inspection systems of passengers.
