Senator Francis ‘’Kiko’’ N. Pangilinan on Tuesday, Dec. 28 said he stands in solidarity with his fellow opposition lawmaker, Senator Risa Hontiveros, as she faces the wire-tapping case resurrected after years in slumber.
‘’Kaisa ako ni Senator Risa sa laban niyang ito (I am with Senator Risa in this fight),’’ he said.
‘’Halatang harassment ang pagbuhay ng kasong ito (The resurrection of this case is pure harassment). The case should have been dismissed right away. Walang wire na tinap (There was no wire tapped),’’Pangilinan said.
‘’Nasilip lang mismo sa phone ni Vitaliano Aguirre ang pagpilit niyang kasuhan si Sen. Risa sa Senado mismo habang may pagdinig (It could have been that Senator Risa looked at his phone during a Senate investigaton). Binuko ito ni Sen. Risa sa privilege speech, kaya protektado siya ng legislative immunity (This was revealed by Senator Risa in her privilege speech and she is protected by legislative immunity),’’ he added.
‘’Dapat ibasura ang kasong isinampa sa kanya (This case should be thrown to the trash can),’’ he stressed.
