Merry Christmas to all!

After a tumultuous 2021, President Duterte delivered a Christmas message of hope, courage and faith to the Filipino people still reeling from the devastation caused by Typhoon Odette, and the long-drawn effects of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.

Notwithstanding these unfortunate incidents, a majority of Filipinos continue to believe that their Christmas would, indeed, be happy this year, according to a survey by the Social Weather Stations (SWS).

And perhaps this year’s Christmas celebration won’t be as meaningful than that for 354 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), long stranded in Saudi Arabia for various reasons, who were flown home by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Thursday, Dec. 23, 2021.

These are among our top stories this Christmas morning, Dec. 25, 2021.
