The accredited group of the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) extended a helping hand to the DSWD Field Office VII in setting up two-way handheld radios to connect the FO’s regional warehouse and its Emergency Operations Center (EOC).

“The installation of the handheld radios is a reliable way to ensure that communication lines will still be available during the disaster response operations in the region since network signals remain intermittent in Central Visayas,” the DSWD said in a statement on Friday, Dec. 24.

The DSWD also cited FVRC’s assistance to connect its Field Office VII with the Visayas Disaster Resource Center (VDRC) in Mandaue City, Cebu.

It said the group coordinated with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) to install a spare antenna at the DSWD FO VII to connect with the VDRC in Mandaue City.
