Mayor Isko’s wife Diana distributes relief goods to Loboc, Bohol

Diana Lynn Ditan-Domagoso, wife of Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso, distributed relief goods and mattresses to the victims of typhoon “Odette” at an evacuation center in Barangay Valladolid in Loboc, Bohol on Wednesday, Dec. 22.

“Huwag kayong mag-alala. Kaya naman ako pumunta dito at gusto ko rin makapunta sa inyo kasi marami rin kaming mga kaibigan (Don’t worry. I went here because we have many friends), and this is not about politics, marami rin kaming kaibigan na gustong magpadala ng tulong pero hindi nila alam kanino papadaanin at tinatanong nila kung ano ang pwede pa naming ibigay (we have many friends who want to help here but do not know where to forward their assistance. They also ask what are the other things they can give to you),” Mrs. Domagoso said during her visit to Barangay Valladolid.

She was accompanied by Loboc, Bohol Mayor Leon Calipusan who said that the entire Barangay Valladolid population is currently confined in evacuation centers.

Barangay Valladolid has a population of 519 as per a 2020 Philippine Statistics Authority census.

Mrs. Domagoso’s visit also served as a chance to assess the situation in Bohol and determine what further relief assistance would be extended by the Manila city government.

Prior to Mrs. Domagoso’s visit, Mayor Isko also went to Bohol last Monday, Dec. 20, and met with Bohol Governor Arthur Yap to donate P500,000 from the Manila city government, P500,000 from the “Tulong ng Manilenyo sa mga Nasalanta ni Odette” donation drive, and four generator sets for the victims of Odette in Bohol.

The Manila City Council allotted a P2.5 million budget to assist the victims of “Odette”: P1 million to be given to Cebu, and P1.5 million to be distributed to Bohol, Leyte, and Surigao del Norte.
