Bulacan readies accident prevention plan for Christmas, New Year revelries

The Provincial Government of Bulacan headed by Gov. Daniel R. Fernando has readied its accident prevention plan for the forthcoming Christmas and New Year celebrations.

Fernando said the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) and Provincial Cooperative and Enterprise Development Office (PCEDO) have lined up activities to ensure the safety of every Bulakenyo.

The Ingat Paputok Campaign Plan of PCEDO and the annual Oplan Paputok of PDRRMO are all set, according to Fernando.

The Pyrotechnics Regulatory Board (PRB) led the installation of Ingat Paputok tarpaulins in fireworks stalls in Barangays Biñang and Turo in Bocaue as well as in the remaining municipalities in Bulacan.

Fernando said that from December 29, 2021 to January 2, 2022, the rescue team of PDRRMO will be on standby 24 hours in Brgy. Turo, Bocaue while some rescuers will be deployed in front of the Capitol Building from 8 a.m. onwards to provide medical assistance. From December 29 to 31, the PDRRMO will go around Bulacan to distribute Ingat Paputok flyers.

Fernando said the PRB, Bulacan police, and media are set tovisit firecrackers and pyrotechnics stalls in Bocaue on December 27 to check if their owners and manufacturers are complying with the rules and guidelines.

The governor has ordered the concerned authorities to monitor the illegal sale of pyrotechnics outside the firecracker zones which is strictly prohibited and punishable under the law. For any emergency or accident, everyone can dial 911 or 791-0566 Bulacan Rescue.

“Tayong lahat ay magkapit-bisig, sabay-sabay na salubungin ang Bagong Taon na may pag-asang ipagpapatuloy ang pagbangon sa dagok ng kambal na krisis sa pampublikong kalusugan at ekonomiya dulot ng COVID-19,” (Let's stay together in welcoming the New Year with hope that our countrywill continue to rise from this public health crisis wrought by COVID-19)," Fernando said.

Community fireworks displays are encouraged as long as they adhere to COVID-19 health protocols and launched in designated areas only.
