Paranaque City ranks 2nd in Manila Bay clean-up, rehab


The Paranaque City government was recognized by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) for its Manila Bay clean-up, rehabilitation, and preservation program.

Mayor Edwin Olivarez said the city government was recognized as one of the highly compliant local government units in the implementation of the Manila Bay clean-up, garnering 92.80 percent and was Top 2 in the entire National Capital Region (NCR).

He said the city was also top performer in the liquid waste cluster in the recently conducted 2021 Regional Inter-Agency Committee validation.

The mayor thanked the DILG for the recognition given to the city government of their hard work in preserving the Manila Bay.

Olivarez also praised Amurao and Quiogue for conducting regular clean-up drives at the coastal area in Paranaque.

He was joined by engineer Pablo Olivarez, the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) team headed by Bernie Amurao, engineer Tere Quiogue, and DILG Paranaque Field Office Director John Visca in receiving the award held at the Manila Hotel.
